Dr Adel Asaid
Dr. Adel Asaid graduated Medicine in Cairo, Egypt, in 1982. He moved to Australia in 1998, starting work in Melbourne, before moving to Bendigo where his passion for rural medicine began. He started his rural GP training in 1998 with the Royal College of General Practitioners, in Eaglehawk and Dimboola. This then encouraged him to commence practice in his first rural medical clinic in Elmore, in 1999. As Dr Asaid’s vision to provide health services to other rural areas developed, and needs were identified in other communities, he expanded these rural medical services, with additional rural clinics situated in Boort, Rochester, Strathfieldsaye, Heathcote and a satellite medical service located at Lockington.
Dr Poate Radrekusa
Dr Poate Radrekusa joined St Anthony Family Medical Practice in 2006 at Elmore Primary Health. Dr Radrekusa, originally from Fiji, studied Medicine at The University of Adelaide in the 1980s. Upon graduating, he went back to work in Fiji as a Surgical Registrar and also worked in New Zealand and Scotland. Dr Radrekusa then moved back to Australia and began work in rural communities, starting with Shepparton, Bendigo, Sea Lake, Echuca, Elmore and finally Heathcote. Dr Radrekusa has since become an integral member of our team.
Dr Eji Ekeanyanwu
Dr Eji Ekeanyanwu has been a valued member of St Anthony Family Medical Practice since 2006. Dr Ekeanyanwu studied at the University of Nigeria and undertook his General Practitioner training at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Dr Ekeanyanwu then completed his Fellowship at the College of Family Physicians in South Africa. He immigrated to Australia and completed his Fellowship of General Practice where he began working in regional areas. Dr Ekeanyanwu loved providing rural communities with needed health care which led him to St Anthony Family Medical Practice and ultimately Rochester.
